Exercise · ZW-SET-OPERATIONS-009 · ★★★ Advanced
Let \(A\) be the even numbers from 1 to 20 and \(B\) the multiples of 3 from 1 to 20. What is \(A\cap B\)?
Choose one option.
Show answer
← Back to the question
Explanation
Lying in both means being a multiple of 2 and of 3, i.e. of 6; between 1 and 20 these are 6, 12 and 18 (24 exceeds 20).
Set operations combine two sets \(A\) and \(B\), inside a universe \(U\), to form another one: union, intersection, difference and complement.
\[A\cup B,\quad A\cap B,\quad A\setminus B,\quad A^{c}=U\setminus A\]
