What does reflexivity require?
Choose one option.
A There exists \(a\in A\) with \(a\,R\,a\) B For every \(a\in A\), \(a\,R\,a\) C For every \(a\in A\) there is \(b\) with \(a\,R\,b\) D If \(a\,R\,a\), then \(a\) is unique
Show answer B. For every \(a\in A\), \(a\,R\,a\)

Explanation Reflexivity requires that every element of \(A\) be related to itself, not just some element. The option requiring a different \(b\) does not guarantee \(a\,R\,a\).
A binary relation \(R\) on \(A\) that is reflexive, symmetric and transitive. It groups the elements of \(A\) that behave alike with respect to some property.
\[\forall a\in A\,(a\,R\,a)\ \wedge\ \forall a,b\in A\,(aRb \Rightarrow bRa)\ \wedge\\ \forall a,b,c\in A\,(aRb\wedge bRc\Rightarrow aRc)\]
