Exercise · ZW-LINEAR-COMBINATION-AND-SPAN-001 · ★☆☆ Basic
Compute \(2(1,2)+3(0,-1)\).
Choose one option.
Show answer

Explanation
Multiply each vector by its scalar, \((2,4)\) and \((0,-3)\), and add componentwise: \((2,1)\).
A linear combination of several vectors is a sum of scalar multiples of them; the span is the set of all possible linear combinations.
\[c_1v_1+\cdots+c_kv_k,\quad \operatorname{span}\{v_1,\dots,v_k\}\]
