Exercise · ZW-RIEMANN-SUMS-002 · ★☆☆ Basic
Choose one option.
With \(\Delta x=\dfrac{2-0}{4}=\frac{1}{2}\) and left-hand points, the sum is \(\Delta x\,[f(0) + f(\frac{1}{2}) + f(1) + f(\frac{3}{2})]=\frac{3}{2}\).
A Riemann sum approximates the area under a curve by dividing \([a,b]\) into \(n\) rectangles of width \(\Delta x\) and adding their areas, with the height of each rectangle taken at a point of its subinterval.
