If \(v_1,\dots,v_k\) are linearly dependent , then:
Choose one option.
A each is a multiple of another B none is a linear combination of the others C at least one is a linear combination of the others D all are linear combinations of the others
Show answer C. at least one is a linear combination of the others

Explanation From a nontrivial relation you can solve for a vector with nonzero coefficient. Not all need depend on the rest: \((1,0),(2,0),(0,1)\) is dependent and \((0,1)\) is not a combination of the others.
A set of vectors is linearly independent if the only linear combination of them that gives the zero vector is the one with all coefficients equal to zero.
\[c_1v_1+\cdots+c_kv_k=0\ \Rightarrow\ c_1=\cdots=c_k=0\]
