Exercise · ZW-PRODUCT-RULE-010 · ★☆☆ Basic
Differentiate \(f(x)=\left(2 x - 1\right) e^{x}\).
Choose one option.
Show answer
- B. \(\left(2 x + 1\right) e^{x}\)
Exercise · ZW-PRODUCT-RULE-010 · ★☆☆ Basic
Choose one option.
With \(u=2 x - 1\) and \(v=e^{x}\): \(u'=2\), \(v'=e^{x}\). Then \((uv)'=u'v+uv'=2 e^{x}+\left(2 x - 1\right) e^{x}=\left(2 x + 1\right) e^{x}\).
Rule giving the derivative of a product of two differentiable functions: \((fg)^{\prime}=f^{\prime}g+fg^{\prime}\). It is not the product of the derivatives.
